Weight Optimization of a Press Station for Pipelines with 500 Tons of Feed Force

Project Goal:

Reduction of the station’s weight for more cost-effective manufacturing and significant improvement of the transport situation.

Our Service:

Standards-based optimization of the system with multiple iterations while maintaining consistent safety with regard to stability.

Result:

Weight savings of more than 8 tons per system based on DIN EN 1993 for the assessment of stability and strength.

FEA Analysis of a Maintenance Platform

Project Goal:

Verification of the static strength of a maintenance platform manufactured from standard semi-finished products.

Our Service:

Execution of a numerical simulation based on DIN EN 1991 and DIN EN 1993 to determine the permissible stresses and occurring surface loads.

Result:

Certifiable strength verification with detailed breakdown of the calculation and comprehensible structure as a mandatory component for obtaining CE approval.

FEA Simulation Slag Pot

Static calculation of a slag pot with a dead weight of 33 tons

Project Goal:

Verification of static strength considering the exceptionally high slag temperatures of 1320 °C, with a density of 3.6 t/m³ and a filling volume of 16 m³.

Our Service:

Development of an individual verification concept based on the FKM guideline in combination with Eurocode 3, as no direct standard is applicable due to the very high temperatures.

Result:

Strength verification of the pot with a validated verification concept and confirmation of the serviceability of the slag pot.

FEA analysis of a non-magnetic shut-off valve

Project Goal:

Verification of static strength for a gas-tight shut-off valve under internal pressure – for use in safety-critical applications.

Our Service:

Non-linear FEA calculation considering contacts under an operating pressure of 380 bar, made of brass.

Result:

Verifiable strength assessment according to DIN EN 13445-12 with additional use of VDI 2230 for the stripping strength of the thread.
